I'm back!!!!

OK, so it has been quite some time since my last post and to be honest I was truly thinking of stopping my blog. I guess I didn't really think too many people would be interested in the everyday happenings that go on in my corner of the world. Then, I found out that my kid's cousins like to see pictures of them and read about what they are doing. And, we often check the blogs of family and friends to see what they are doing too. I've been repremanded by a few that I haven't posted for awhile, so I guess my corner of the world needs to be updated more frequently than every three months. Oops...sorry!

Well, now I have some catching up to do. We have had some birthdays in the past 3 months. In fact, everyone except Trey (his is in September), had a birthday recently! For Brent's birthday, January 17, we (of course) went to Harley Davidson! Secretly, Brent truly likes the Yamaha Raider and is hoping to get one this summer, but he needed some raingear cuz even the rain isn't going to get in his way and HD has really nice gear. There was a ride that Brent saw at HD that seemed to call to him but the price difference between a brand new harley and a brand new raider is almost $12,000! And we need to build a home so the raider seems more realistic!!! Besides, from what I have been told by many a biker, HD is more expensive becuz of its name and sound (which is really the bike backfiring!?!). At any rate, I just like to ride on the back of the bike and I don't really care what the brand is...my hubby is hot in black leather on his ride! Anyways, we got home late and I had to hurry and decorate Brent's cake...The kids ?helped? kinda and Brent really liked it!

On February 4, Brent really out did himself and threw me a surprise birthday party! I truly had no idea which is impressive for Brent to pull off without me being tipped off! Even though we had only lived in Dallas for 5 months, many of our friends were there and we had a real fun time! We are trying to make the birthday cake a big deal in our family (one of our traditions), and I had been teasing Brent about how he was going to come up with my birthday cake. I like cheesecake and I was wondering how he would pull it off. Well, the morning of my birthday, he had a mini cheesecake in the fridge with a note on it (yes, store bought, but points nonetheless),

and he had a beautiful bouquet of daisies delivered to me that afternoon. (Daisies are my favorite flower-they're so happy!)

And then there were three more cheesecakes at the party brought by our friends. So, Brent didn't make me a cheesecake, but he made sure I got four of them! Nice! (I didn't eat them all by myself, bytheway!) Becuz we are still in an apartment, he had the party at his new physical therapy clinic and he had given the keys to our friends, the Thackerys, and they decorated! I'll post a blog about this family later...we love them so much, they have been so kind to us and our kids. After the party, we went to the Thackery home and played games. It was a really great birthday! Thanks babe!

Jayden's 6th birthday was next, March 13, and she decided she wanted to go to the coast instead of a party (phew!). We stayed at the condo in Depot Bay for two nights and we also had a good friend come out too! Her name is Whitney, and our kids adore her!

She brought 2 of her friends and we had a great time! Jayden had requested a strawberry cake this year and with the help of Whitney and her friends, this is how it turned out...

Very yummy huh Marni?

Jayden got a new bike and helmet, a baseball mit and ball (she starts T-ball in April), a swimsuit coverup from Aunts, wallet with $ from Cutler Grandparents and book, stickerbook, and pencils from Darrington Grandparents. We played in the pool at the condo and spent some time on the beach! Jayden loves to search for seashells, she has quite a large collection now! Here are some pictures of the kids and the girls having fun at the condo...

And just recently, Marni turned 2 on March 27th. Marni loves "kitties" and she got a Hello Kitty bank, stuffed kitten, swimsuit coverup from Aunts, and some books from Darrington Grandparents. (Cutler grandparents present still in the mail, they didn't forget). We made a Hello Kitty cake for Marni this year and she was very excited! We also spent the entire afternoon at the aquatic center here in Dallas. Marni is a water baby and we have to keep an eye on her...she loves to jump in even though she still doesn't know how to swim! She keeps trying to get out of our arms while in the water because she sees her siblings swimming and thinks she can too! No fear!

Welp...this post is getting a bit long, so I will try to keep it updated more often with our 'goingsons' and photos. We are having so much fun here in Dallas and want all our friends and family to know that they are ALWAYS welcome to come and visit! We have lived away from family for most of our marriage and sometimes feel blue when we miss out on family gatherings. It isn't easy living so far away from family and want them all to know that we love them so much!

You've come a long way baby!

I must have shut my eyes for a few moments because when I opened them...Marni had gotten so much bigger! Ok, maybe nobody else sees it but me...I guess only moms tend to pick up on these things. She just barely starting walking not too long ago and now she is running AWAY from me every chance she gets! Luckily she still wants to take her naps...I guess I still need something that reminds me of my baby. I'm not quite ready to call her a toddler yet, even though she is. And she is not shy either. The other night at the ward Christmas night, she was flirting relentlessly with a much older man at the table next to us. She loves any attention anyone gives her...she is alot like her older brother. In this picture, she has taken over Jayden's dollhouse. Jayden doesn't even play with it anymore (I guess she thinks she has outgrown it but I say not yet by a long shot!). Marni finds any little toy she can get a hold of and finds a place in her dollhouse for it. All three of my kids like to collect things; Jayden still collects rocks and seashells, Trey finds rocks and (due to his grandma cutler) has a nice collection of banks, and Marni also collects rocks and has now decided to collect any of her older siblings toys she can get and stash them in her dollhouse. What is it with the rocks?

Recent Trip to Hawaii!

Well, thanks to my mom who came and stayed with our kids for a week, we were able to go to Hawaii with some friends of ours! We stayed on the Maui Island at the Wailea Beach Villas Condos, they were amazing! We enjoyed bodyboarding, snorkeling which we saw some sea turtles, zipline, some amazing food, and Brent even took surfing lessons! I think that next time I definately want to get some surf lessons too...I actually regret not doing it with Brent at the same time! Brent also went with the other guys and took a Harley ride on the notorious "Road to Hana." He had a blast and wants me to go with him next time too, except we will probably rent an open jeep instead of a Harley! Hawaii was awesome and we will definately go back soon!
Some bodyboarding:

This is Tony and Brent catching the curl!

This is me...you can't tell but I'm actually catching the curl just right to be pushed by the wave!

Some zipline pictures: (I don't have any of Brent, hoping to get some from Michelle)

Tony, Mary, Michelle, Joel, Bob, Tiffanni, Todd, Dena, Brent & I, Ruben all geared up!

So graceful!

Some pictures of Brent during his surf lessons and trying out his skills. He did really well which is why I wish I would have done it too. Brent says it is really pretty easy, the hard part is paddling against the swells to get out to the next wave.

Sexy Brent...oh yah...those surf booties really bring out your manlyness!

Show that board who is boss...in your 80's style red half shirt! (Really a rashguard)That is Brent on the left if you can't see his red shirt very well.
Smooth as butter!Hee, hee, hee, hee, hee....wipeout!

And the ride to Hana:

Joel, Tony, Ruben, Todd, and Brent on their Harleys!

Such a stud!
Joel and Tony in the back, Ruben, Brent and Todd in front.

This guy is a native they met while in Hana...Hang loose!

We had a really great time and are so grateful that Tony invited us to go along with them to paradise! We had a lot of fun and will miss our friends since we now live in Oregon. Thanks again you guys!

We're Still Here...Alive and Kickin!

Wow, has it really been that long since my last post?! Well, a whole heck of a lot has been going on lately. First and for most...Brent's clinic is open and buzzing! We had a Grand Opening on Friday (Nov. 7) and it was a huge success! The mayor came and he was very excited for Brent's clinic to be here in Dallas. Many members of the Chamber of Commerce came, some doctors and some referral clerks came as well! There was a huge production made of the ribbon cutting which I didn't get pictures of but the lady at the Chamber promised to send them to me via email soon. She took lots of pictures of the kids...they behaved so well! Marni stole the show and many of the people who came were giving her food to eat and taking her picture! She would even say "cheese" for them...what a poser!

Brent's clinic is going very well! He is seeing about 8 patients a week and continues to recieve more referrals each week. His office manager is a true blessing for our clinic. She even had the entire congregation at her church praying for the success of the clinic! Everyone we meet here in Dallas has been so kind and enthusiastic about the clinic and they want to make sure that we like it here in Dallas!
Here are a few pics of the inside of the clinic...if it looks pretty small inside...it is! But just starting out, the clinic is plenty big until we find a place or build a building for the long run. I painted the Dallas Physical Therapy sign on the wall...it is paint and not vinyl lettering. I thought it turned out pretty good...its alot better than the plain white wall we had before.

We also had Halloween since my last post and for the grandparents...here are the pictures of the kids. Jayden was a witch, Trey was Spiderman, and Marni was a ballerina. We forgot to take pictures of Jayden and Marni right after they got into their costumes and remembered after all the hoopla that evening to even get their pictures. That is why Trey is the only one who had is pic taken inside.

They had a great time trick-0-treating...Trey woke up the next day and asked if we could go again that night. We are having a real blast here in Dallas, OR and even enjoy the occasional rain we get! Jayden and Trey are loving their schools and I am able to volunteer in Jayden's class every Thursday. We love the ability to take off to the coast whenever we feel like it since it is only an hour drive. We miss our friends in Othello, WA as well as our families scattered just about everywhere...but we are feeling pretty certain that we will be calling Dallas OR our home for a good long time to come! Unless I fall in love with Hawaii (we leave this coming Saturday...YEEEEEHAW!) and can some how convince Brent to set up a clinic there...hey you never know...our last trip to Mexico I even got him looking into school options for the kids if we moved to Mexico. Whoever said the wife has no pull with her husband just isn't pullin in the right direction!!! I fell in love with Dallas from the very beginning and have never doubted my feelings. This is where I want to raise my kids and grow old! We love it here!
